By collaborating with a range of food and agricultural businesses, we are developing solutions to help both businesses and the local water environment become more resilient to a changing climate, improving water management, soil health and biodiversity.

Norfolk and the Cam and Ely Ouse (CamEO) catchments are key sourcing areas for pig and poultry production, potatoes, vegetable and salad crops as well as cereals (wheat, barley and oats), oil seeds and sugar beet.
In a region home to globally rare chalk rivers and associated species, diffuse pollution from agriculture is a significant contributor to the poor health of the local water environment. Additionally, the region faces water availability pressures, exacerbated by unsustainable water use and climate change.
By working with farms and supply chain businesses, we are developing and implementing solutions to tackle these challenges and improve the resilience of our water environment. This includes providing targeted farm support to deliver bespoke on-farm measures that improve water retention, reduce runoff, protect soils, enhance biodiversity, and strengthen the resilience of the surrounding water environment.
