Natural Flood Management Guidance

April 8, 2025

The Environment Agency have developed a guidance document to provide simple, clear information on Natural Flood Management (NFM) measures for landowners, farmers and anyone with an interest in implementing NFM.

It aims to highlight what tools are available that meet the twin challenge of delivering for the environment (specifically through Natural Flood Management), whilst also maintaining current levels of food production.

The guide can be read here, and features various case study examples, including measures implemented by Norfolk Rivers Trust.
